Alenna Hennessy for cooler mornings!

Since I am addicted to Etsy and other design blogs I must have seen Alenna Hennessey designs a millions times before I finally ordered. What did it for me was the peacock feather.
It is not easy to even think about scarves when you wake up to 90 degrees but now... since it is at least pretending to cool down... I am ready for fall fashion. That means finally putting away the flip flops and wedges (or throwing them away, which is where most of them should go) and looking for cool weather accessories... PS. You can buy this on the stores new site!!!

I heart Jewell Magazine

Christy Butler, who has the most gorgeous red hair I always wanted, is the Publisher/ Editor of a local shopping mag called Jewell. First off I love this magazine because it is straight to the point all about shopping, showing off both established and new places... and although I am poor because I just opened a store, I love to see what is hip and now.
This month features a really cute bud vase we carry at the store! Christy and her boyfriend( who owns downstairs.. which has the cutest bamboo dress I have been coveting....) were so nice to not only come here looking for something, but brought me back the flowers from the shoot as well!
This issue is well worth mentioning alone for The Daily Dish section, which tells you where to get 2 for 1 or half price apps every day of the week. I have already cut mine out and posted it so I know where Eddie and I are eating when I don't want to cook ( which is pretty much everyday!)

DrikaB Handbags

[WHO'S DRIKAB].... Other than the most talented new bag designer around!
drikab loves the handmade life. She was “made in Brazil” where she grew up and studied design and architecture. Currently, she lives in California with an eccentric dog named Cierra and a very supportive husband. Her designs are inspired by unexpected color and texture combinations and her primary goal is to keep making things that are practical and fun.
When I opened the box today I was over come the wants.... I want them all!

Tribeza Style Pick!

Tucked away in West Lake Hills, Sanctuary is one shop that lives up to its name. The soothing white walls and pale hardwood floors reflect the simple and fresh tone of the shop, which is stocked with fluffy robes, scented candles, colorful stationery, and an assortment of goods handpicked by owner Hanna Curran.A number of local designers and lines, including jewelry from Catherine Nicole and Laura Elizabeth, items from botanical culture creators LD Design, and selections from Rae Cosmetics, are featured on Sanctuary’s shelves. Also sold are T-shirts with delicate nature scenes from the locally based Victrola Design and planters from Austin Outdoor Studio. “It’s always nice to carry local artists,” says Curran, whose upbeat and welcoming presence adds to the shop’s warmth. Finely made dishes and bowls, Vosges chocolates, and bath accessories also fill the store, which has the comfortable and calm feel of a day spa. Thus far, the bright Flowie Style tote bags are popular items at Sanctuary, as are the small blue, green, and clear Loft bottles. The Paper Orchid stationery line is a personal favorite of Curran’s, though she says everything in the store is something she would appreciate receiving or enjoy wearing. Certainly Sanctuary offers a variety of items, from delicate necklaces and bold earrings to nesting bowls and bright postcards with thought-provoking messages, like “When is the last time when you did something for the first time?” “I’ve got gifts from $10 to $350,” Curran says. “There’s a real range. I didn’t want to leave anything out.” Gardening gloves, wide-brimmed hats, and various herbs in a can are good gifts for those with a green thumb, and the K. Hall Designs lavender lotions and bath products and funky Tray 6 umbrellas are gifts that are appropriate for any occasion. Also an ideal source for bridal shower and wedding gifts, Sanctuary carries a line of bridal items, like the “I Do” slippers designed by famed Hollywood wedding planner Mindy Weiss. Curran, an Austin native who was a schoolteacher before opening Sanctuary earlier this year, says she has enjoyed every bit of the process of creating the shop, from painting the walls to selecting the merchandise. “There is so much stuff out there. I tried to pick things that I like,” she says, adding that she peruses everything from the blog Design Sponge to magazines like the New Yorker, Domino, and Better Homes and Gardens for inspiration and ideas. “Just picking things I like—that is what has worked and kept it cohesive,” she says. “I walk in and feel like I am at home.” Or in a sanctuary.

UPS is Working Hard

Customers ask me all the time where I find things to carry at the store. The answer is that I am absolutely addicted to blogs, magazines, and my pockets are always full of little scraps of paper with designers names on them. I am always on the lookout for something fresh and new. Check out some of my latests discoveries...... I love the bright colors mixed with this funky print! Coasters and Notebooks from Rock Scissor Paper... a cool company from some very creative ladies.... read all about them..... Susie and Heidi Bauer were born in the metaphoric bubble of the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, in the late 1960’s. As children of European immigrants, they grew up celebrating pop culture and mass-produced objects of the era as a visual personification of the American dream. This became the inspiration for their designs. The perfect table topper for a holiday celebration. This gorgeous container can easily slip over a candle or vase to create a unique centerpiece.
